Description of Event
The purpose of this Industry Consultation Workshop is to provide an open forum to discuss the future R&D direction of the Centre for Converged Services with industry stakeholders. The workshop will start with a presentation from WIT on R&D in WIT and the context and rationale behind 3CS. The Centre Director of 3CS will then present to the workshop the goals, objectives and high-level R&D plan for 3CS for the next four years. Following this an open session will be facilitated to gather feedback from industry on 3CS’s R&D programme and also industry’s requirements in general for advanced R&D.

The Centre for Converged Servcies (3CS)
3CS, The Centre for Converged Services, undertakes collaborative Applied Research and innovation in converged Internet and Telecommunications services which it aims to deploy commercially to market via industry partnerships.
3CS delivers breakthrough innovation to industry via Collaborative Research and Development projects such as Enterprise Ireland’s Innovation Partnership Programme and Industry Led Research Programme, and also, via the transfer of 3CS’s researched technologies to new high potential start up companies (spin-outs and spin-ins). As a result 3CS adds economic value and generates new knowledge for economic and social progress regionally and nationally.
3CS’s regional mission is to ADD VALUE to the South-East of Ireland region by helping local ICT (Information and Communications Technology) companies leverage the breakthrough innovation capability of 3CS and, in addition, by creating new jobs in the region by using 3CS breakthrough innovations to create new spin-off companies and by attracting in new spin-in companies to leverage 3CS’s technologies and capabilities.
